“Tiny Dancer” was correct; it is more likely sleep apnea rather than narcolepsy. Sleep apnea causes the person to stop breathing in their sleep. As a result, their sleep is interrupted many times a night and they do not get restful sleep. 30. I a Registered Polysomnographer, employed in an excellent, hospital-based sleep clinic. Something for all of us to consider is, there is no “one-fits-all” cure for OSA. Different people require different approaches. A multifaceted approach would be ideal, not one of promoting a mode of treatment. Most OSA sufferers need to lose weight, though obviously not all. Mandibular surgery works for some, as does the rather unpleasant UP3 procedure. Doctors need to treat people as human beings, not dollar signs. Many people also suffer from Central Sleep Apnea, another beast altogether.

  31. Sleep apnea is a big problem within the United States today and the consequences of the condition go far and wide way beyond the confines of a doctor’s surgery. One of the reasons why sleep apnea is such a big issue is because so many people go undiagnosed and do not have the benefits of a sleep apnea machine to counteract the problems associated with it.

Linked over from Mom2my6pack. Have you considered maybe a sleep disorder? Like narcolepsy or sleep apnea? You have to be an obese guy to get sleep apnea and it REALLY messes with you.
Also, try to make sure not drinking too soon before bed. Even though alcohol makes you sleepy, once the buzz wears off, it actually makes you more restless.
If your insurance will cover it, maybe you could look into getting a sleep study!
    Good luck!
